Description
The fortunes of the Archaeological Museum are linked to the fortunes of the Bourbons of Naples, to the dream of a king and his descendants to turn this city into a cultural beacon and a worthy capital of a kingdom: it is thanks to this vision that the Farnese Collection arrives in Naples, that digging begins in Pompeii and Herculaneum.
And thus the museum’s collection is enriched with statues, frescoes, mosaics, precious gems, coins as well as surprising everyday objects. A legacy that is a tale of the highest artistic expression of our ancient civilization. Here is one of the few museums in the world where time travel really becomes possible.
